Huffman & Carpenter, Inc., a wetland regulatory and hydrologic consulting
firm is seeking a mid or senior level Environmental Planner or Environmental
Attorney in their Reno, Nevada office. The Environmental Planner/Environmental
Attorney works with a team of scientists at Huffman & Carpenter, Inc. (H&C) to
produce environmental reports and environmental documentation as well as permit
applications. Reno is located at the base of the eastern slope of the Sierra
Nevada Mountains, 40 minutes away from Lake Tahoe, CA. H&C is an equal

Job Duties
Prepare regulatory compliance documents associated with the following State
and federal policies:
• Clean Water Act Sections 401, 402, and 404;
• Endangered Species Act, Sections 7 and 10;
• National Historic Preservation Act, Section 106;
• National Environmental Policy Act; and
• California Environmental Quality Act.
Aspects of Corps permitting that this position may be responsible for include,
but are not limited to 404(b)(1) analysis, compensatory mitigation plans,
Individual Permits, Nationwide Permits and wetland delineation reporting. Corps
regulations, guidance documents, and case studies are used as a base source for
understanding Corps jurisdiction.
The Environmental Planner/Environmental Attorney works in a project management
capacity coordinating with clients and agencies to produce the required reports,
environmental documentation and permit applications. As a project manager,
ability to organize work tasks, manage staff and work with team members is key.
In a project management capacity, the Environmental Planner/Environmental
Attorney is responsible for project budget, cost management, data analysis,
agency and client coordination, and both supervising and training junior staff.
The position requires excellent written communication skills for the preparation
of written documents including letter, proposals, reports, and analysis of data.
Support for business development in environmental planning is expected through
activities that include marketing, proposal preparation, and proposal
presentation.

Requirements:
• 3-5 years experience preparing environmental documents;
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations;
• BS/MS in Natural Resources, Planning, or related field; and
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
