--Surface Water/Wetlands Hydrologist and Regulatory
Scientist
Huffman & Carpenter (H&C) is a
wetland regulatory and a hydrologic consulting group based in Reno, NV and is
seeking a Surface Water/Wetlands Hydrologist and regulatory scientist for
their
Truckee Office. Reno is located at the base of the eastern slope of the Sierra
Nevada Mountains, 40 minutes away from Lake Tahoe, CA. H&C is a equal

help us in achieving this goal. Salary is dependent on experience. An individual
with experience in surface water hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality who
has experience in project management and enjoys environmental restoration work
would be a good fit for this position.
More specifically, the duties
of Surface Water/Wetlands Hydrologist and regulatory scientist who has extensive
experience in high elevation alpine ecosystems and in Great Basin wetland
ecosystems. Preference will be given to a certified Professional Wetland
Scientist and although not a requirement preference will be given to a certified
erosion sediment control professional. More specifically, the duties and
responsibilities of Surface Water/Wetlands Hydrologist and regulatory scientist
include all aspects of the design and implementation of wetland regulatory
permitting, wetlands delineations, constructed wetlands design, wetland
mitigation and monitoring plans, best management plans, river/stream restoration
plans, and natural resource evaluations, expertise in modeling wetland
hydrology, both for delineating wetland boundaries and designing wetland
mitigation projects. Experience with many surface water rainfall, water quality
and stochastic models, such as Hydrus 2-D, SWMS-2D, HECRAS, and HEC-1 are
necessary and can be learned.
