Helping Our Employees Adopt Children

Huffman & Carpenter, Inc. believes strongly that the best type of investment is that of human capital.  Supporting children and providing a positive environment for them to learn and grow in is of the up-most importance to the future of all people.  Therefore, Huffman & Carpenter, Inc. has instituted a program to help employees who wish to adopt a child.

Requirements:

• Employee is a full time employee.

• Employee has completed 3 years of full time employment (see employee manual).

• Adoption expenses must be "qualifying adoption expenses" under the Small Business Job Protection Act Signed into Public Law 107-16 on June 7, 2001.  Such expenses are described in Internal Revenue Service Publication 968 entitled "Tax Benefits for Adoption", which is available from the company's chief financial officer.

• Reimbursement of adoption expenses is limited to $10,000.00 per employee. This policy will be revised by the Board of Directors and may be revised as the federal polices change.
