H&C along with EMI Canada will join a team of scientists, engineers, architects and designers with a green energy rocky mountain flavor to a remote area of Haiti (Fort Jacques) to conduct a site assessment of 4 hectares of land that will become the new children’s campus for a Haitian orphanage.
Lori and Joy (will help to assess the site for water supply, waste water and alternative energy needs. The first order of business with be to site a groundwater drinking water well, assess water harvesting through rain barrels and roof systems, assess and design alternative energy supplies through solar and wind energy systems, and assess the site for a waste treatment system via wetlands and engineered septic systems. Clay Cooper from the Desert Research Institute will also be present to evaluate contaminate issues and geologic properties of watershed.

EMI will serve to design a children’s campus from local materials that will serve the children of Haiti for many years to come. The local campus is God’s Littlest Angels and they have been involved with improving the lives of Haiti’s children one life at a time for more than 20 years.
H&C doesn’t receive a monetary stipend as this is a vacation! When Lori leaves Haiti, the orphanage will have one less, Kendy, age 5, who was adopted by Lori and Clay Cooper in February of 2007 – will be coming home. This makes their 5th internationally adopted child. Lori seems to meet children on international water adventures that are meant for her family.
