Ms. Coker received a Bachelor of Science from the University
of Nevada, Reno. While at the
University
of Nevada, Reno, Ms. Coker focused on wildlife
research, particularly population dynamics. She assisted on a research
project in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone National Park which focused on
the behavioral changes of the Uinta Ground Squirrel in fire effected
habitats. She also assisted with a Lake Tahoe Urban Biodiversity Study
focusing on small mammal population response to urbanization.
Ms. Coker is currently an Environmental Scientist for Huffman &
Carpenter, Inc. She is responsible
for monitoring existing, created and mitigation wetlands. Specifically, she conducts vegetation and
avian surveys, and monitors soils and hydrology. Ms. Coker has experience conducting
WOUS/wetland delineations, including wetlands under the influence of
irrigation. She also has experience in
construction monitoring for permit compliance, and preparing desktop
threatened and endangered species reports.
Ms. Coker’s short term goals are to
complete a Masters degree in Wildlife Biology while working towards a
Wildlife Biologist Certification (CWB).
