Lori A. Carpenter, M.S.,
President of Huffman & Carpenter, Inc. is a certified
Professional Wetland Scientist. By taking an active role in all
projects undertaken by the firm, she is able to make sure that
every project that H&C, Inc. produces meets the standards that
certification implies. Using a consulting firm that includes one
of these elite professionals will provide quality that cannot be
paralleled elsewhere.
The PWS certification is awarded
by the
Society of Wetland Scientists,
a non-profit organization. One of the main ways that this
organization furthers their stated goal to enhance scientific
and educational objectives is by encouraging and strengthening
professional standards in all activities that center around
wetland science. Their certification program is a powerful
institution to help raise those standards. Currently, they have
the only wetland-specific certification program in the world.
A person who is PWS certified has
academic and on the job experience that is recognized as meeting
the standards expected by the wetland science community as a
whole. The standards include personal conduct as well as quality
of work. Anyone certified as a PWS has agreed to follow the
SWSPCP code of ethics.
