Ms. Barnett is currently a biologist with Huffman and Carpenter, Inc.,
specializing in wetland avian biology. The majority of her work at H&C
involves field investigation, specifically avian surveys,
threatened and
endangered species surveys, habitat
surveys, wetland delineations, and
vegetation monitoring and identification.
Other work includes data analysis, report writing, and GIS production.
Ms. Barnett has taken courses in GIS and has a particular interest in
mapping using ArcView programs.
Terri received her M.S. degree in Wildlife Biology in December, 2003.
Her research focused on nest site fidelity, reproductive success, and
nest structure and composition in juvenile and adult Rio Grande Wild
Turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo intermedia) in Kansas and Texas. Prior to
graduate school she assisted state and federal agencies with a moose
population dynamics project, determining the cause of moose declines in
northwestern Minnesota. Other work has brought her to the Yukon Delta
National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, assisting with research involving
breeding biology and life history traits of Black Brant (Branta bernicla).
Long term goals include continuing education in the area of wildlife
biology and wildlife veterinary medicine, specializing in disease,
parasitology, and toxicology issues.
